Update on the format of the Minamata Convention COP4

On 27 May, the Secretariat of the Minamata Convention participated in a Chemicals and Waste briefing organized within the framework of the Geneva Environment Network (GEN). The online event offered an overview on key activities and important conferences, including the online and in-person segments of COP-4, and the Secretariat's efforts for effective online sessions and enhanced connectivity.

Minamata Convention Secretariat at the 60th GEF Council Meeting

Executive Secretary Monika Stankiewicz attended the 60th Council Meeting of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) on 16 June, thanking Council members and the GEF Secretariat for their strong engagement in the Minamata Convention. The GEF Trust Fund is one of the two components of the financial mechanism of the Convention.

Call for comments: Draft guidance for completing the national reporting format

The first version draft of the guidance on national reporting is now open for comments. Parties and stakeholders may submit comments using the comment form available for this purpose and submit it by 28 June 2021.
