Note by the secretariat 1. Pursuant to article 21, on reporting, of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, each party to the Convention is to report to the Conference of the Parties on the measures it has taken to implement the provisions of the Convention, on the effectiveness of such measures and on possible challenges in meeting the objectives of the Convention. 2. In its decision MC-1/8, on the timing and format of reporting by the parties, the Conference of the Parties, at its first meeting, adopted the format for reporting set forth in the annex to the decision and decided that each party was to report every four years using the full format and every two years with respect to the four questions marked by an asterisk in that format.
